Performance Data 2020/21

Primary performance data will not be published, teacher assessment in English reading, writing and mathematics at key stage 1, and assessments at key stage 2, will remain. These measures will help to understand pupils’ lost time in education and support those that need it most, providing vital information to parents and assisting with pupils’ transition to secondary schools.

  • 65% of pupils nationally reached expected standard in reading, writing and maths compared to 81% of pupils at The Blue School.
  • 78% of pupils nationally made the expected standard in grammar, punctuation and spelling as opposed to 95% of pupils at The Blue School.
  • 78% of Year 6 pupils nationally made the expected standard in writing as opposed to 97% of Y6 pupils at The Blue School.
  • 73% of pupils nationally made the expected standard in reading as compared to 91% of pupils at The Blue School.
  • 79% of pupils nationally made the expected standard in maths as compared to 86% of pupils at the Blue School.
  • In Reading 47% of our pupils achieved Above Expected.
  • In Writing 59% of our pupils achieved Above Expected.
  • In Maths 48% of our pupils achieved Above Expected.

The proportion of pupils attaining the expected standard in reading, writing and maths at the end of KS1 was above the national picture.

Pupils’ attainment at the end of KS1 is strong and the current Year 2 are on track to continue this positive trend.

Key Stage One SATs Results 2017

In Summer 2016 the school was above the floor standard in both attainment and progress. The Inspection Dashboard (2016) concluded that there were no areas of weakness.

The proportion of pupils attaining the expected standard or greater depth in reading at the end of Key Stage One was above the national picture.

The proportion of pupils attaining the expected standard or greater depth in writing at the end of Key Stage One was above the national picture.

The proportion of pupils attaining the expected standard or greater depth in maths at the end of Key Stage One was above the national picture. 

This proportion was above the national picture particularly for those pupils who left the EYFS at expected. Pupils’ attainment at the end of KS1 is very strong.

Our Year 1 pupils achieve significantly higher than National in our Phonics check.

The percentage of pupils that achieved the pass mark in 2019 was 93%.

  • For the last 3 academic years results in Year 1 Phonics has been above the national average. 
  • Phonics has been consistently strong over the past 5 years.
