Hello, our names are Katy Smith and Phoebe Salkeld. We are trainee teachers at Cambridge University. As part of our PGCE training, we spent 3 days at The Blue School last week. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the school and were gutted that due to the escalation of government advice our time was cut short. During this time, we were based in Otters and Pandas class but we spoke to many children and staff throughout the school which was a testament to the warm and welcoming environment of the school.
We could see why the children clearly loved coming into school every morning as a result of this created community. The children were inspired to be independent, inquisitive and creative with their learning and it was a pleasure to watch and be a part of. Our time at The Blue School has been greatly valuable for our professional development and we hope to return in the future to carry on where we left off. We would like to thank personally Mr Kelly and all staff that welcomed us with such friendly and helpful arms. It was a truly enriching week.
