We are a happy friendly class who love to learn. We value good manners, being kind, sharing and always trying our best. These are important to us here in Otters class and we have written them into our class rules.
Mrs Couch is our teacher and Mrs Mugosa is our teaching assistant. We are having lots of fun this year jumping into the KS1 curriculum.
Our day begins with a fun phonics session, followed by maths, English and then Worship. We are really enjoying joining in with whole school worship this year. After lunch we start our foundation work and the day ends with storytime and our class prayer.
We have so much to look forward to going into the summer term.
In English we are continuing our learning of Traditional Tales focusing on Cinderella. We will be discovering the many different versions and then we will become authors by writing our own version of this much loved tale.
In Otters we are keen mathematicians and in our maths lessons this term we will be getting our teeth into Fractions, Length and Mass, Money, and Multiplication and Division.
In RE we are learning about the promises that Christian make and will be undertaking a mock Baptism, as well as learning about Judaism. In Science we are thoroughly enjoying our topic of plants and are looking forward to our upcoming field trip to Kew Gardens. We will be exploring the fabulous grounds and taking part in a ‘Super spines and climbing vines’ workshop.
In PE we have started our Team Building topic.
We are particularly looking forward to celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with our whole school community to end an exciting half term.
Please see our knowledge organisers in the parent portal for more information on the curriculum.
