Mr Humby has been a much treasured member of The Blue School community for 22 years. He retires today, 17/12/2021 and in the new year will set off on a new adventure, moving to the south coast. Mr Humby is a keen fisherman and cyclist so he will have plenty to keep himself busy.
We will miss Mr Humby greatly. He has been a consistent, kind and steady presence for the children. They have enjoyed seeing him fix and build things, and been particularly fascinated by his building of the pond over the last six months.
Fortunately for us, Mr Humby has a deep interest in history and was very happy to accompany Y6 on their WW2 residential a few years ago. His knowledge of ordnance came in handy when an unexploded mortar was brought into school for “Show and Tell”. Mr Humby identified it swiftly and we cleared the buildings in record time!
So, Mr Humby we wish you a well-deserved long and happy retirement, you have been a much valued colleague and friend of the school. May God bless you in the next phase of your life and keep you safe and healthy to enjoy it.
